Questions to ask before bringing your
machine back for repair
Key: possible solutions
Is the machine leaking from point of contract between hose and water outlet
Please order part number 2.880-296 from our Retail Helpline or click here to visit one of our Spare parts retailers
Could there be an air lock causing the machine to pulse
See guide below for trouble shooting
Machine is vibrating
Is there sufficient water flow? This can cause a high-pressure hose to vibrate more than normal
1 - 4 Series 6 lires per minute, 5 - 7 series 9 litres per minute
Is 25ft of uncoiled garden hose being used? This can cause a machine to pulse when on standby
Troubleshoot
If machine is pulsing whilst in use check that the accessories are free from blockages
Clear by soaking in warm soapy water and then flushing under a tap
If your machine cuts out occasionally, it could be because you are using an electric extension cable. This must always be a 13 amp constant rating, no longer than 20 metres. Please check your operating instructions for correct specifications
Troubleshoot for domestic pressure washers
Covers possible faults such as Air Blocks, Pulsing and sticking By-pass valves
Ensure the machine in not connected to a electricity suppy
Remove black high-pressure hose
Connect garden hose to machine. (Using a free flow connector)
Turn on outside tap.
Leave water to run through machine for 5 minutes
Connct black high-pressure hose
Use trigger gun to draw water through hose and into gun and jet pipe
Connect machine back to electricty supply
Turn machine on from the electric control box
By operating your trigger gun the machine should now be working correctly
Always ensure your filter in your machine is free of dirt and debris (located just after connector 6389 870, inside your water inlet section)
If using an electricity extension cable please ensure that the specification are as stated in your manual (please see pressure washer care letter for further information)
Your garden hose should be 25ft and over, uncoiled and secured to your machine using a free flow connector. (Not stop valve or return valve)
Pressure Washer Care Update
Water
Before use, always check inlet filter for dirt and debris.
Connect the water supply hose and without the lance attached, squeeze the trigger to run water through your pressure washer until water flow is constant. Then connect the power and replace the lance* * A lance or inlet filter blocked by dirt is not covered under warranty.*
Unless drawing water from an open water source such as a water butt, always have a minimum of 25ft (min ½" diameter) of uncoiled hose between the water tap and your machine*
Use a one-way valve conector at the tap end of the supply hose.
Only use a free flowing connector to connect the hose to the machine.
After switching off your machine squeeze the trigger to release residual pressure.
When storing your machine PROTECT FROM FROST
Electricity
If using an electrical extension lead, it must be rated at a minimum of 13 amps. The longer the extension lead, the thicker the extension cables need to be so ensure that your extension lead will be adequate for the job. If you are in doubt seek professional advice.*
Always fully uncoil any extension lead when used.*
Chemicals
Use only chemicals recommended by Kärcher through your machine.
Use of non recommended chemicals could cause significant damage which may not be covered by your warranty.*
After using chemicals, always run fresh water through your machine.*
*Warranty risk - could cause damage and invalidate your warranty*
commercial use of a domestic machine Will invalidate the warranty.
